The Rise of Inglewood

Tell me Inglewood is not one of the fastest growing cities, not only in the nation, but the world. Where else can you take a city from nearly zero, wiped off the map of prosperity, to making millionaires by tightening the ship and steering the course to greatness with full-fledged collaboration with the big boys? That’s what Mayor James T. Butts did. He is credited for the recent deal that gives the citizens of Inglewood another amazing thrill. 

Check out the recent deal the Los Angeles-based Shomof Group closed, selling the Lüm Hotel to Chartres Lodging Group for a staggering $57 million. The plan is for an extensive repositioning at the 3900 W. Century Blvd, which is adjacent to the recently opened Intuit Dome in Inglewood.

Proximity to LAWA and Major Thoroughfares

Inglewood is like no other city, with its proximity to LAWA, the Los Angeles World Airport. Just minutes away from the friendly skies and just around the corner from major thoroughfares, the 405 freeway and the 105, are just a hop, skip, and a jump in an Uber and a straight shot down Manchester to the Forum, SoFi Stadium, Hollywood Park Casino, and Intuit too.

hat more could you ask for? Now comes the Lüm Hotel, in a place long ago where we used to bump and grind to grooves in the small motel's lounge, sometimes around 1979. Inglewood, look can truly say, “Look at me now!”

According to Isabel Sami, a Los Angeles Business Journal Staff Reporter for L.A. Business First, “The San Francisco group is "gearing the hotel to fit the evolving sports and entertainment district where it sits." 

Their plans are extensive, and they aim to transform and renovate the 179-room hotel to add gym facilities, plus a pool and restaurant, Cork & Batter. The three-story restaurant with rooftop bar spans 10,000 square feet and opened in 2022.

The Phoenix Rising

Inglewood is like a Phoenix, rising from the ashes and soaring with first-class accommodations from morning to night. 

The city's transformation is nothing short of remarkable, going from a place that was once written off to a thriving hub of activity and opportunity, like the recent deal with the Shomof Group and Chartres Lodging Group is just the tip of the iceberg. Inglewood's proximity to Los Angeles World Airport (LAWA), the 405 freeway, and the 105 freeway makes it an incredibly accessible and desirable location.

The city's proximity to the Forum, SoFi Stadium, Hollywood Park Casino, and Intuit Dome further solidifies its status as the entertainment and sports capital of the region. 

The Lüm Hotel's extensive repositioning is a testament to the city's growth and the confidence that investors have in its future.

Inglewood is a city that has defied the odds, rising from the ashes to become one of the fastest-growing cities in the world. With its strategic location, thriving entertainment and sports scene, and a commitment to collaboration with the big boys, Inglewood is poised to continue its upward trajectory. 

The Lüm Hotel deal is just the beginning, and as the city continues to evolve and transform, we can expect to see more exciting developments and investments in the years to come.
